DAVID HELP

Quick instructions for the things you actually need.

Install David on a new computer

1. Sign into David Caregiver.
2. Open New Person Setup.
3. Enter the person's name and choose Windows, Mac, or phone/tablet.
4. Download the installer directly from the website.
5. Enter the one-time six-digit setup code when David asks.
6. Test voice, Chat, and HELP before leaving.

The private server setup key is no longer needed for the normal 5.0 computer setup path.

Reminders

Open the person → Reminders → Add reminder. Choose the time, schedule, category and importance. Critical and medication reminders repeat more aggressively. The computer keeps its local reminders even if the internet is temporarily unavailable.

David Chat

Open the person → David Chat. Messages refresh automatically while Chat is open. The Windows and Mac apps can also send and receive messages. Use HELP instead of Chat for an urgent situation.

HELP notifications

The red HELP button sends an urgent alert to enabled caregivers. In Administrator → Devices, use HELP test to send a harmless test notification. A real HELP request is never created by the test.

Backups and moving to another computer

Before replacing a computer, Administrator → Devices → Backup. The server backup contains the person's profile, reminders and history, but not passwords or device tokens. After installing David on the replacement computer, use Administrator → Backups to restore the backup.

Administrator Center

Administrator gives you system health, every registered device, latest Windows/Mac downloads, backups, registered caregiver accounts, and the security activity log. If a computer is lost, disable its device entry. If a web session should no longer work, revoke it.
